Foggy Dreary Day

We now have an inversion so it is cold and foggy! When I lived in CA that was one thing I hated was the Fog! It is sooo gloomy and depressing. I sure hate to drive in it too. Last night coming home from Bible study I almost missed our road because it was so bad. Roge' has to go to Elko today for the MRI and I'm trying not to stres because his boss is driving him and the roads are bad. I wish they would let me take him but I'm also glad we don't have to use our vehicle or gas right now. Torn, torn! LOL

We had a great weekend with our Grandson, he loved playing on our 5 acres in all the snow. We have several small mounds that are perfect for a 5 year old to sled down. The dogs had a blast chasing him down them too. They all got their exercise those 2 days. I sure had to do lots of laundry tho from all the wet clothes.

My Grandaughter had a bad seizure yesterday after falling on ice on the sidewalk. She has had this problem since she started walking and falling and the Dr said she should outgrow it by the time she is 4 but she seems to be getting worse. It is soooo scary! I was on the phone with Amanda when it happened and she ahd to get off and rush her to urgent care. They did do a CT scan and said they couldn't see anything wrong in her brain. She seemed fine by bedtime. When it happens in the evening none of us would get any sleep! I keep praying she will outgrow it soon because this Grandma's heart just doesn't like that kind of excitement!! My blood pressure goes sky high! :( Not a good thing. I'm not a nervous type person and I stress about very little but my dh and my kiddos are the ones I worry about.

I ordered a Dyson vacuum yesterday. I can't wait for it to get here! I can't believe I'm excited about cleaning house!! LOL It has been over 8 weeks since I could vacuum because I had surgery and then when the Dr released me my vacuum bit the dust. Our church has a Dyson and my oldest dd has one and they love it. I really like that it doesn't take bags but keeps it suction even when the container is almost full. It also has a Hepa filter so it's supposed to be good for people with Asthma. I sure hope so! We are trying to save $ to get new carpet also but this just set my savings back some. But I had to have a vacuum so not much I could do about it. Hopefully I will get the new carpet by summer.

Well, I'm off to read for awhile. I'm taking a lazy day! LOL Wishing you all a great day.

Will it get worse?

After all the rain everything froze and then it piled another 6 inches of snow on top of that. What happened may you ask? School buses in ditches, cars stuck everywhere! Snow removal equipment stuck or broke down! My car is stuck in my driveway. Krystal stood outside in the snow for a half hour with no bus in sight, so my neighbor, thinking she was being helpful took Krystal to school in her 4 wheel drive, without asking me! I had just called the school about the bus when I saw Krystal get in my neighbors truck and drive off. The school said they would be open to those who could get there but no buses at all today!! That's nice since my 4 wheel drive pickup is at a mine 30 miles away and won't be home until 5pm! I called my neighbor and told her she would need to go and get Krystal from school since she so thoughtfully took her to school! She wasn't too happy but she is the one who did it without checking 1st. She called a minute ago and said we are supposed to get more snow around 1pm so thye are going to get their boys from school at noon so what was I going to do about Krystal? What am I going to do??? Absolutely nothing! My car is stuck, probably until spring thaw! Jeesh! So I had to call the school and they will release her at noon to my neighbor. Poor Roge' is at work in this mess unable to do much because of his shoulder and they still haven't approved the MRI. I wish they would get their act together and find out what is going on with his shoulder! I am very thankful for one thing tho, that we still have power because many areas don't due to the weight of the snow, drenched with rain and ice! I just heard that one of the mines buses is stuck in a canyon(70 miles from town) full of guys on their way to work. The guys on night crew are stuck at the mine also. Hope they can get them out soon. Good thing it wasn't the night time bus last night! They could have froze to death!! I'm making calico bean soup with the leftover ham bone from a ham I cooked a couple of days ago. Thought it was a perfect day for some warming homemade soup. Think I might make homemade bread too. I haven't done that in awhile and it just might help release some tension! LOL Well, take care and have a blessed day! ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) and prayers from Cindy

Mess, Mess, Everywhere!

Oh my what a mess we have everywhere! It rained half the night on top of 2 feet of snow so it made one huge soupy mess! The school bus almost got stuck and I had to complain to the Road Dept. because they had plowed the paved road and piled huge Mtns of snow right into the middle of our gravel road. The bus almost didn't make it over that Mtn! So they came and bladed our road and blocked my driveway. Thanks guys! :( I had to take Krystal to the Dentist at 3pm and only by tons of prayer did I get out of the driveway in my car, slipping and sliding all the way!! When Roge' saw the slide marks he couldn't believe I had actually gotten out and gotten back in. He got stuck in 2 wheel drive in our truck. Thank the Lord he put it in 4 wheel drive and got out. The car sure wouldn't make it to where he works. I'm planning on going absolutely nowhere tomorrow! It is again snowing on top of the mess we already have.

Roge' still hasn't gotten that MRI so we are still waiting around to find out what is wrong with the shoulder and what they can do about it.

I'm beat so I think I will hit the sack. Take care and have a blessed Tuesday. ((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) and prayers from Cindy

Saturday

Well it's Satuday morning and we didn't get tons of snow overnight like they said! YEAH! :) I'll have to call Amanda later and see how they fared. They said it would be snow storms all weekend tho so we will have to wait and see. It is quiet here, both Roge and Krystal are still sleeping. I kind of enjoy that peaceful time before anyone else gets up. I woke up with a huge fever blister in the middle of my mouth. :( I'm also stuffed up. I refuse to be sick tho! I'm claiming healing in the name of Jesus, by His stripes I am healed!! I won't miss church tomorrow.

I need to get this house clean today. I have torn apart a couple of closets and haven't finished them because the dust really bothered me. I need to finish those and put away all the boxes sitting in my livingroom. I ordered my Grandbabies their birthday and Christmas presents for this next year. I couldn't pass up those fantastic deal Penney's had on line! The hardest part will be not givng them to them early! June, July, Sept and Dec are a long way off! LOL I'm going to Reno in Feb. to see the kids and I think we should celebrate their birthdays then, my girls laughed at me! Hey, 2 1/2 year olds have no clue when their birthday really is so why not??? LOL

I'm going to make homemade buttermilk pancakes for breakfast so I better get off of here and do that. Take care and have a blessed weekend! ((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) and prayers from Cindy

Amanda's home safe!

I was getting worried because the news from Reno was bad. She did get home safely. They closed Penney's at 10:30am and sent everyone home. It took her almost an hour instead of the usual 15 minutes! Reno has been delared a state of emergency from the snow and it is supposed to get worse this weekend! I went to the store here this morning before it got bad. I don't want to be going out this weekend. We are supposed to have a baptism at church this Sunday. The people are coming from 100 miles away. Not sure they will make it here with the snow. Take care and have a blessed weekend! (((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) and prayers from Cindy

In for a big one!

The news says we are in for lots more snow this afternoon! Reno is supposed to get tons more also. I worry about Amanda and Shaelyn having to go out in it every morning at 4:00am when the roads are so horrible! The animals are starting to have trouble also, This weather just isn't typical for here. We get some snow and then it usually melts in a few days or a week. In Reno the mule deer are on the verge of starving because the sage brush is covered with snow and they can't get to it. Here we have an infestation of rabbits! They are all over the roads because that is where the snow is less. My dogs are having a field day with them. Yuck! I really need to get to town and stock up on some food so I don't have to go out in the next couple of days.

Poor Rogelio came home hurting and sick with a bad sinus cold! They will probably call from the hospital today to come in for the MRI. I don't want him on the roads when they are bad and I don't want him out in this cold when he is sick! He does need to get his shoulder taken care of tho. He is off today and thru the weekend and then has to go to work on Monday, days and light duty. He lost his 5 days off. I'm glad he won't have to work his night shifts tho so I guess that is a good thing.

Well, I need to go fix Roge some breakfast and get cleaning my house. Take care and have a blessed Friday and weekend! (((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) and prayers from Cindy

Waiting time

Well, now we wait for preapproval for my husband to be able to get an MRI. They had set up an appointment but they said they couldn't do that without preapproval. The Dr thought his arm was broken from the xrays here but they did new ones and thankfully it wasn't. They just do lousy jobs here! The Dr thinks the rotator cuff is torn and may need surgery. They put Roge on light duty and said he could help in the offices. That made both of us laugh anyway! He told his boss he would need to bring his wife for that job. Not sure what he would do without me. He won't write checks or do the taxes by himself. I do all the paper stuff in this family. I have a file box and a fireproof box with all our important stuff in it and I tell him he is lucky I'm organized so that of anything happens to me at least he will be able to find the important stuff! He won't have a clue what to do with it but at least he will be able to find it! LOL

Our weather is still very cold and it is snowing again. This is the most snow we have had in many many years!! It is beautiful and even makes sagebrush look pretty but it is a bugger to drive in! Our county doesn't clean our road so to get out to the side road a 1/4 mile away is real fun! The school bus has been able to come down the side road and pick up my dd thankfully or I would have to go out in it each morning. Reno is being snowed under and they are very unprepared for it also. They usally get a few inches and then it stops for awhile. They have 3 feet and it is snowing again! My dd, and son are having a hard time getting around. My dd has to be at work at 4:30am and has to take her dd to the babysitters, (my neices) at 3:30am just to get to work on time! My neices street hasn't been cleaned at all either so it is real slick driving on it. My son-in-law works in construction and can't work at his job but the city has hired him to plow roads. He has been working from 6am-10pm for the last week. His pay check will be nice but he is exhausted. It doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon either. I sure pray it doesn't warm up all of a sudden like it did in 1996 or they could be in real trouble with flooding again.

Well, I hope you all have a great day!

What Next?

Rogelio just called me from the Hospital, he was hurt at work and they are taking him to the Hopsital 70 miles away for an MRI. His boss is driving him in a 4wheel drive because the roads are so bad. This past year was so hard with my cousin dying of cancer, then my mom getting cancer and having surgery, then my own surgery at the end of Oct, and finding out after the fact that I had cancer cells! Now my sister has to have surgery and they found a small mass also. Man, it has been tough! Trying not to give into depression has been the very hardest. There are soooo many things to be thankful for. My mom is now doing wonderfully, she needs no other treatment and she has lost over 100lbs since a year ago Christmas. My surgery went great and I need no other treatment and I'm feeling 100% better than I did the last few months. But those things are still stressful and I can feel it emotionally and physically. I am having trouble staying focused and I'm not finishing tasks that I need to. I'm exhausted but haven't done anything physical to be exhausted! I know those signs well and I'm determined not to give into the dark side! I haven't used my cave (what my dh calls our bedroom because it has black out shades so he can sleep after working nights) for months which is a good thing but some days I sure want to!! The snow and cold weather have made it much easier to stay inside and not go anywhere also. I will survive this winter and I will emerge a stronger and better person! I think just writing out how I am feeling might be of some help. I wish I could figure this blogging out right tho, I feel stupid because it says it is so easy but I don't get it! LOL My posts aren't on the same page like the others I have read. They are under archives. Live and learn I guess, or die trying!

A new morning a new beginning

Oh boy, I stayed up way too late playing with this blogger thing! I couldn't get up this morning. I can't even remember the last time I slept past 7am. Good thing Krystal gets herself up and ready for school.I have so many things to do today. My laundry is getting out of control, the house is a mess and I'm way behind on my paperwork for Food Distribution and next week is the new one. NOT GOOD! Somtimes counting all those small numbers is just not something I want to do! Wanda from Commodities called and wanted to know why I haven't done them. I did have a good excuse for almost a month after surgery but I could have easily done them this past month, just have not wanted to!! I did ask her to fire me and she laughed at me. I guess they are so desparate for volunteers they will keep anyone on. LOL Rogelio thinks I should quit and maybe look for a REAL job that actually pays me but, then I think of all the Seniors we help who make less than $500 a month and I just can't. I've tried getting more help, the Newspaper even did an article for me, and people just don't want to volunteer anymore, they want to know what they will get for doing it. It is a real pain sometimes! My New Years resolutions didn't make it past the 1st!! LOL I'm so thankful that the Lord's mercy is new every morning and He never gives up on me. I need to get in that mindset tho of starting over every morning and getting something accomplished instead of just giving up. That makes things so much harder when I finally have to do them.Wishing you all a great Wednesday! (((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) and prayers from Cindy- posted by Cindy @ 7:45 AM

Wednesday

Well, here I am again. I have no clue what I did wrong but my other post created a new blog instead of posting over the 1st one. I'm trying this one to see if I got it right this time. LOL Hope you all have a great day!

A new thing for a new year

Well, I was finally able to get an account, after about 75 tries! Not sure what I'm doing and how it all works but have always wanted to journal and thought this might be a good place to give it a try. Having comments may or may not make it easier. :) I have been reading Angi's blog keeping up with Savannah and Angi's life the last week or so and was intriqued enough to try it out. We will see if I can keep it going. Have no clue if anyone will think my blog is worth reading and quess I really don't care too much one way or the other. Maybe this will enrich my life or maybe it will just be another thing I have trouble getting too. LOL Well, it's getting late and I still have to fix my husbands lunch so I will end here. Take care everyone~is anyone going to read this besides me and do you all care if I care that you take care? ROFL!! Well, I guess I can make myself laugh so that just may be a good thing. I can use some laughter in my life this year. This past year had very little. Signing off for now, Cindy
